Dr. S.K. Goyal is working as Assistant Professor (Stage-III) in the Department of Agricultural Engineering, Institute of Agricultural Sciences at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi (U.P.) since 2010. Dr. Goyal did B.Tech. (Agril. Engg.) from CSAUA&T, Kanpur; M.Tech. in same discipline with specialization in Agricultural Processing & Food Engg. from IGAU, Raipur (C.G.) and completed Ph.D. in Agricultural Process & Food Engg. from SVPUA&T, Meerut (U.P.). During his Ph.D. programme he has been a recipient of UGC National Fellowship. He has also been awarded Post Doc. Fellowship by UGC for conducting research on “Various Qualities of Basmati and non-Basmati Rice”.

Dr. Goyal is a recipient of two National Awards 1. Rajiv Gandhi National Award-2013 for Book authorship by Hon’ble President of India Shri Pranav Mukharji Ji and 2. Rajbhasha Gaurav National Award-2015 for Book authorship by Hon’ble President of India Shri Ram Nath Kovind Ji, both awards are conferred by Deptt. of Official Languages, Min. of Home Affairs, GoI, New Delhi. Dr. Goyal has also been conferred more than 19 awards like Young Fellow Award, Best Extension Award, Innovative Scientist Award, Award of Excellence for Energy Awareness in Agriculture, Best Editor Award, Young Scientist Award for outstanding contribution in the field of Agricultural Engineering, Global Outreach Award, Most Innovative Faculty of the Year 2020 Award, Best Oral and Poster Presentation Awards. He organized 07 International & National Seminars, Conferences, Workshops and other Scientific Events; delivered more than 55 invited talks as subject expert. Dr. Goyal has so far published 23 books (Hindi and English), 19 book chapters, 61 research papers, review papers and more than 250 popular articles to his credit in various journals of international & national repute. He has been guided 08 Ph.D. and 10 PG students of Food Science & Tech., Dairy Tech. and Food Tech. He handled 08 research projects funded by various agencies viz. DST, ICAR, UGC, Deptt. of Agric & Cooperation (Min. of Ag&FW), IoE-BHU, etc. Presently, Dr. Goyal is engaged in Teaching, Research & Extension and guiding Ph.D., M.Sc. & M.Tech. students. Dr. Goyal is a Drone Pilot trained by Indira Gandhi Udan Academy under Directorate General of Civil Aviation.
