DESCRIPTION:Livelihood Security through Sustainable Horticulture and Allied Enterprises\nIt is organised by ICAR-Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture (CITH)\, Krishi Vigyan Kendra\, Baramulla\, Jammu & Kashmir\, and National Agriculture Development Cooperative Ltd. (NADCL)\, -Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture\, Srinagar has been established under the aegis of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research at Srinagar\, Jammu and Kashmir. It has two regional stations at Mukteshwar (Uttarakhand) and Dirang (Arunachal Pradesh) and plays a leading role in designing and developing research programmes on crop improvement\, production\, and post-harvest management for achieving economic and nutritional security in the entire Himalayan region The Institute is mainly focussing on research and development in temperate fruits\, nuts\, vegetables\, ornamentals\, medicinal and aromatic plants\, and saffron.
